Everyone's in a state about which lessons have changed seating and which haven't, and what plates people are eating off of. Well, I say it's no use getting in a flap about it all. Of course, over at the Hufflepuff table, it's more like we purebloods separate out our food than holding a separate plate for the halfbloods. (Why are they all in our house, anyway? I dunno.)
Some people think if they sit in the back of their lessons, no one will notice them or ask them questions. Some people think they can keep their heads down and no one will realise they aren't much of a wizard. I think that's bad form. No one should be worried about getting called on if they've done their work and have been paying attention to the lessons.
Well, we've got Defence today and I'll bet Professor Lockhart doesn't bother to switch us round. But if he does, it's nothing to do with protecting anyone, it'll be because he wants to keep a closer eye on the ones he considers more skilled than the rest.
I've been living with halfbloods for a little over a year and it hasn't rubbed off on me or anything. Of course, some people I thought were purebloods turned out not to be, so that's been an interesting development. But I don't think it's so much whether they're halfbloods or not, but what kind of wizard they try to be. I think if someone tries hard and does their best to serve the Protectorate, they should be treated well in return.
But I think if someone is a blood-traitor and turns their back on their rightful heritage, that's not so good, either. I think it's worse than being a halfblood in the first place.
Well, anyway. Some of the guys wanted to know, so that's what I think.

Date: 2010-02-05 05:22 pm (UTC)Yeah, it's totally about talent in there. Talent for kissing up, maybe. Sounds like you're trying for top marks at that.

Or are you really a blood-traitor like Patil says?

Date: 2010-02-05 07:27 pm (UTC)Tell me one thing you've actually learned from Professor Lockhart that's not just a story about stuff he says he's done but won't show us or teach us.

Date: 2010-02-05 09:20 pm (UTC)Professor Lockhart is our teacher, whether or not you believe the tales in his books. And he's your Head of House, so that means he ought to have your respect, at least.
Are you just looking for another detention? Trying to break your twin brothers' record or what? (Too many of them could add up badly, you know.)

Date: 2010-02-05 05:47 pm (UTC)But maybe it makes sense if we all stay away from halfbloods. While everything's on.
I don't know.
Thanks. For writing this I mean. I like knowing what people think.

Date: 2010-02-05 05:57 pm (UTC)I wish there were an easy way to tell if someone's going to get ill. And plus, I don't know if the petrifications and the disease are connected, some people think it might be. So if it is, then maybe there's already infection in the castle, I dunno, but it could be, and then it does really make sense not to touch anyone or anything if we can help it. But we can't all go about with the Bubblehead Charm, that'd be dead ridiculous.
Plus nothing's happened in a long time, now, so maybe it's over.
I like knowing where people stand, too. It makes everything much easier when you know who your friends are and who you can trust. And who you can't.
